Thank you for your support
My name is Dell Truax and I will be helping the club this season both on and off the ice. My role will be supporting the coaches in ensuring we make this season a great experience for all the kids. This journey will begin on Monday, October 19th. Durango Youth Hockey will be running two weeks of tune up skates to get our players ready for the season. Each skate will be run by our coaching staff with support and assistance from myself. Our goal is to lay the ground work for the season by creating a fun and safe environment for the players to train and play. We will focus on the four core skills and small area game play during these next to weeks. The four core skills (skating, passing, shooting and puck control) are essential skills for a player to continue on a strong development path. We will teach these skills in fun and competitive ways as we incorporate game play to every skate. Small area games provide a fun and competitive setting for players to work on their skills while using their imagination and creativity to become better players. The complete schedule for this two week program, as well as the registration information, can all be found on our website homepage - durangohockey.org. Registration is open now and will close on Sunday, October 18th. There will be no walk ups or drop-ins for this program. Those who register for this program will receive an email on Monday, October 19th with more detailed program information. If anyone has questions about the program, please reach out and we will answer them as quickly as possible. Our coaches are excited to see everyone next week
