6U/8U-Mites
We offer 8U (8 & under)and 6U (6 & under) hockey for kids ages 4-8 years old. Our focus is the fundamentals and fun.
We ask that children are proficient skaters prior to beginning the program for the most development and fun.
If your child isn't a proficient skater yet, please start with the Learn to Skate program through Durango Parks and Rec.
We accept 6U & 8U registration year round.

Practices
Practices are typically Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday afternoons. Some scrimmages on Saturdays. Games are on Saturday & Sundays.
Practices run 45-60 minutes.
6U players will see the ice 2x per week.
8U players will see the ice 3x per week.
Games
Scrimmages are typically Saturdays at Chapman Hill Ice Rink.
A few Jamboree weekends are scheduled for 8U. The full schedule & details are in the Crossbar app and on the team schedule page.
Jerseys
Practice jerseys are provided. We ask that you return them on the last day of practice for each session.
EQUIPMENT
All players will need the following equipment:
● Helmet (black is encouraged)
● mouth guard
● shoulder pads
● elbow pads
● gloves (black is encouraged)
● breezers (black is encouraged)
● shin pads
● socks
● skates
● stick
● water bottle
Other equipment: equipment bag, jock strap, socks, neck guard.
